I just returned from the new nature preserve courtesy of Scarborough Land Trust that’s only a few miles from my house. It’s a little fairyland with a big sky! The air smelled like wildflowers, birds were everywhere and it was ours (me, the birds, groundhogs, chipmunks, butterflies, humming bees and things rustling in the leaves as I walked past) alone for the duration of my walk! I have driven past this field for years but now it’s open to the public to enjoy.
Indeed, what a beautiful day we had today. A rolling thunderstorm came through yesterday afternoon and I can’t help but hum Appalachian Spring. The blue sky, cottony clouds and cool temps bring Aaron Copeland’s music to mind for me.
Thanks for your posts. I enjoy them.

How beautiful! I’m in the middle of a big city so I have to drive aways to see anything like this.

Are there nice parks in the city where you live? I miss people watching. 🙂

Yes, there are lots of nice places. The Dallas/Fort Worth area has lots of suburbs and it’s like one gigantic super city with nice parks and rivers and lakes. But the more isolated areas are away from the cities.
