Happy Thanksgiving!

Wayne and I are having a Thanksgiving for two-ish: Wishy, Wayne and me:

I bought the vintage black and ecru embroidered linen tablecloth and matching napkins at an estate sale almost ten years ago. This is the first time I’ve ever used them, though. I think it coordinates so nicely with the black Wedgwood Florentine which was a wedding gift from my late Nana to my parents when they got married in the 1960s.

The vintage silver plate salt and pepper pheasants were a church rummage sale find.

We bought a small organic turkey from Whole Foods. I also made mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes and cranberry stuffing.

Wayne said it was worth the wait.

We used beeswax candles for the first time and I highly recommend them! They were completely dripless and very slow burning.

Wishy is still around and we’re thankful for him.

  1. Beautiful table setting! Looks like y’all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I tried to simplify the menu this year (I think I told you last year I was going to try) but everyone has to have what they like. All.The.Food. Haha, oh well, my daughter made a couple of the dishes so it wasn’t so bad. πŸ™‚

  2. Love! Your table setting. And you have the same silver pattern I do, Francis 1st.
Sorry, this is on an old post, but I am so enjoying your blog, I am reading every entry going back in time.
And I can’t wait to try some of the recipes!
