Yes. And just as messy: Home grown tomato and mayo sandwiches! Here’s my recipe:
Fresh picked tomatoes, still warm.
Sliced, not too thick, not too thin.
I use Against the Grain gluten-free rolls that come frozen. I let the rolls defrost before lightly toasting them.
They are light and airy yet rich; definitely the best gluten-free rolls out there. Also, there are no gums or artifice in them. I spread one tablespoon of mayo on each sandwich; no more is needed. Pasta bowls work perfectly for these sandwiches, because when you bite into them, the bottom will fill with warm tomato juice mixed with mayo. Perfect for dunking your bread. And, just like eating lobster, you’ll need a towelette for your hands afterward. (It’s not a very good “first date” kind of meal, though!)
There is nothing that comes close to fresh out of the garden tomatoes!!!! Not even lobster fresh out of the ocean!

“Up in the mornin’ out in the garden
Get you a ripe one don’t get a hard one
Plant ’em in the spring eat ’em in the summer
All winter without ’em’s a culinary bummer
I forget all about the sweatin’ & diggin’
Everytime I go out and pick me a big one
Homegrown tomatoes home grown tomatoes
Wha’d life be without homegrown tomatoes
Only two things money can’t buy
That’s true love and homegrown tomatoes…”
