Life Is Lovely, Even When It Isn’t

Good morning, lovers of simple living. Wayne has had a nasty cold for the last week and now I’m coming down with it. I have some good news, sort of, which is that my endocrinology appointment got bumped up to later this week instead of another month from now. That means I’ll be undergoing more tests afterward which always brings up a lot of anxiety for me when I wait for the results. Then I’ll have more information about whether or not I need to consider surgery.

Lent is coming up and I think it’s a good time for me to unplug and work on deep relaxation and reflection. Something lovely is that ever since I started meditating a few years ago I’ve created a quick path to a quiet place in my mind, free from turmoil. I’m going to unplug from the internet as much as possible during Lent to reflect and replenish. That means I may not be posting much if at all until April.

In the meantime, how can you not feel groovy looking at this vintage flower power sheet set?!

  1. Praying for peace and quick answers at the doctor! Enjoy your time off the web – may it draw you closer to our Lord. Hope you feel better soon!

  2. I agree Lent is a perfect time to unplug, and meditate. I give up the watching and searching the news every Lent, and I find more peace inside myself when I am unplugged from the hype. Averyl, I hope everything turns out well for you at your doctors visits. God Bless!
