New Followers? Lurkers?

I’m checking in to see who is actively reading. I’ve had an influx of new followers, thank you for joining me. Usually a post will receive a certain number of page views, some likes and comments, but it’s crickets for my last post. Anyone out there? Would love to hear from you as engagement is important to me. It will help me decide if I will continue this blog or start a new chapter. Thank you.

  1. Happy first day of spring! Hang in there Averyl and be blessed by the beginning of the new. People are hunkered down in darkness by fear and anxiety right now. Keep your lamp lighted my friend.

  2. I have noticed a huge slowdown on my blog too……….I think the whole craziness in the world has people spending time else where or feel too overwhelmed to comment. I hope you and yours are doing well.

      1. Awesome! I was supposed to be in Wyoming tomorrow eating a steak, but my husband’s work place got exposed to the virus and Wyoming kind of shut down, and the hotel we booked at asked us not to come. 🤪.
So……you know what….. I think I have hotdogs in the freezer too! And I have all the ingredients to make a pig cake. I have this great need to recreate the cake my mom made for my eighth birthday right now.
Ah…. well…..maybe a steak dinner some other time.
        Bless you guys!

        1. Oh no! I hope you are both in the clear! We were also originally planning on having steak out. I picked up the hotdogs (turkey for me) and frozen gluten free hot dog rolls two weeks ago with all the trimmings in case something like this happened. Enjoy your dogs and pig cake, sounds fun!

  3. Hey Averyl! I saw the headline about your “prepper” friend and could see the preview image of the chipmunk, so I assumed it was a photo only post. My bad, but you buried the lede! 🙂 I hope your health is at least balanced and you’re hanging in during this very strange time!

    1. Yes I did bury the lede for sure but with everything happening I thought a light chipmunk intro might be more appealing than altering people that it’s an old lady aches and pains post, ha. I think of you often since you have been dealing with this much longer out in WA than the rest of us, not that it makes it any easier!

    1. Hey Jean! I didn’t realize you were still reading, what a lovely treat! I’ve been thinking of you and hoping for you and all of us who need to visit the Nonantum that you will be able to offer your wonderful hospitality soon even though not on your usual opening day. It’s surely a challenging time and just plain bonkers, really.

  4. Hello Averyl,
I was subscribed to this blog, but notifications about your new posts stopped perhaps some 3 months ago. I then tried to re-subscribe, but to no avail.

I then entered a new subscription under a different e-mail address and now things are back to normal. But I wonder if I am not the only one…

    1. Hi Uli, good to see you here and glad you took the effort to use a new address! Thank you for that and for bringing this to my attention, that’s not good. I’ve also had some people say they are having glitches while trying to comment. I’ll send a ticket to wordpress support.

  6. Because of your recent blog posts, I’m using our best glasses and dishes for everyday use (what am I saving them for?) and have bought kitchen towels to use instead of paper towels. So, you are having at least some kind of impact on the world…

    1. Thank you. ❤ There's so much commanding our attention that it was easy to overlook. It's reassuring to know the gang is all here along with lurkers outing themselves and new followers.

  7. Hi, I am new here. I live in across the pond in continental Europe but come from the U.S and called New England (Massachusetts) home before moving abroad. Love your blog!

      1. Okay, well what I tried to say is that I’m still here, Averyl. Just processing or trying to, everything going on these days like everyone else. I’ve been neglecting my email so I’m behind on your blog but I still catch you on instagram. A coworker tested positive and my husband and I are both working from home (we work for the same company). We are feeling okay so far. Much love to you, Wayne and the chipmunks!

        1. First it’s wonderful to hear from you!

How scary that it’s so close to you. I hope you weren’t exposed! I’m glad you are able to work from home, though! This whole thing is happening so quickly. I was running on adrenaline for the first few weeks and finally burned out. I’m so grateful for Wayne and the chipmunks and loyal blog friends like you! ❤

  8. I am a follower of your blog, as if today. I just typed in simple living on the WordPress reader and I was reading some posts from different people, then read a couple of more posts from two bloggers, one being yours and now following.
I have been enjoying your posts doing your bedroom up with brightly coloured bed sheets. Very spring like feel and cheerful.
I also liked your napkins you have yeaes and the other ones you shown that were new looking, but not wanting to use.
