A lesson learned. Shown above is today, below a few years ago.

“Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal.”

Or where invasive bittersweet is flourishing. I learned the cemetery removed the statue and there are no plans for her return. Not even a memorial remains forever.
Do you know why the statue was removed?

I believe it’s due to the bridge falling apart. They removed the other statues on the bridge as well, although she was just bordering it. It’s very sad. I think they may lack the funds to replace and repair.

I had been an admirer of her since I first started walking there almost twenty years ago. I’m glad I have photos, at least.
